This workout was all about back pain management honestly. That is just something happens when wearing a vest and carrying a sandbag, though, so it wasn't unexpected. Also, during the squats my feet were cramping. That may have been because I was wearing my running shoes but it made me have to stop many times.

I still enjoyed this workout though. These workouts are much more mentally tough than outright physically tough and I love and appreciate that mental toughness training!

The first run I used as a warm-up. I walked for probably 150 meters but then was able to run the rest of the way.

The second run was a little different because my feet and calves were lit up! So I ran a little bit but walked most of the first 800 meters. At that point I set the sandbag down to stretch my back and then ran the second 800 meters. I use the word "ran" very loosely here! Lol!

Grateful to honor him.

Background: This memorial workout is dedicated to MSG Robert “Pitt” Pittman, US Army (ret.), who died on the battlefield in Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan on July 30, 2010.

At the time of his death, he was serving as an Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) Operational Advisor (civilian contractor) embedded with 1-320th FA – Battle for Bakersfield 1.

He is survived by his wife Melissa and two daughters Loren and Robbie Pittman of Clarksville, TN.

This workout was designed by Max Weinstock who served in the same unit as MSG Pittman. Max met his family in 2019 during a memorial visit and thought that creating a workout under MSG Pittman’s name would be a great way to honor him. After receiving the blessing from his widow, Max programmed “The Pitt”.
