For Time: Finished in 38:56

  • 1 mile Run - 9:59 (Used the beginning as my warm-up!)


  • Then, 19 Rounds of:

  • 3 Power Cleans (135/95 lb)

  • 6 Push-Ups

  • 9 Air Squats - Finished with the rounds at 28:53 (So 18:54)


  • 1 mile Run - 10:30

I loved this workout! I did read a little about Griffin before I did this but didn't see the bottom paragraph. It would make sense that I loved this workout if it is derived from one of Griffin's most favorite WODs - "The Chief" because I love THAT workout too!


I used the first run as my warm-up.


The Rounds all felt good - everything unbroken (Singles on the cleans). It was pretty warm though so my heart rate was on the higher side making that second run feel tougher than I wanted it to. BUT it was still great!

Background: This workout is dedicated to Griffin Hilbo who passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) on April 9, 2020.


Griffin was a two-year member of Timberwolf Fitness @timberwolf_fitness (Roseville, MN, USA) who designed this workout to honor his incredible life.


Griffin truly loved the environment at Timberwolf and the support that he received from so many members during his battle with ALS.


The workout was derived from one of Griffin’s most favorite WODs, “The Chief.”
