I actually really liked this workout although it was a true grind.
I was happy to run outside for the 5K. Even though it was 40 degrees, it was sunny and nice. I walked for the first 100 meters and then the first 800 meters I used as my warm-up. I did some walking/running but was actually pretty pleased with how long I was able to run. The weather actually probably helped with that.
It took my shoulders a while to be happy on the pull-ups but they eventually warmed up and those felt good. High heart rate so I just took some breaks in there. The kettlebell swings felt pretty good until the 3rd set and my shoulder started to hurt. My right one did not like the clean and jerks. For some I just couldn't lock out completely at the top. Overall, this was a great workout and as always, I am so grateful to be able to do something to honor someone else! <3

Background: This memorial workout is dedicated to Julie Tureson, who was killerd by her then-boyfriend at the age of 33 on April 22, 2016.
The workout was created by CrossFit Level 1 Coach Beth Waley @ea.waley, who is also Julie’s younger sister. To keep Julie’s memory alive, Beth designed this tribute – a workout she does every year on Julie’s birthday and the day she passed.
Beth told WODwell, “…the 1st part the 5k was her favorite thing to do. 82 is the year she was born. The 10 rounds represents her birthday (all the reps equal 28 for 10/28). And the last part 4/22/16 represents the day we lost her.”
Julie was the mother of four children.
