This was a great workout! I am still just getting back into workouts so I took this one slow - although really I just took the bike slowly. It didn't seem to matter - my heart rate was still pretty high! Lol!
Round 1 - 7:50 Round 2 - 7:52
Round 3 - 9:18 - I had to stop once on the bike to try to get my heart rate down a little bit.
Round 4 - 10:21 - Same as Round 3
- I started to feel a bit of a headache here so, slow bike but got the squats done.
Grateful to honor this woman <3
** Video is Round 1 and Round 4

Background: The “Beana” Hero WOD honors the memory of Deputy Christina “Beana” Musil, who was tragically killed on March 29, 2024, when her squad car was struck by a semi-truck that veered off the road. Deputy Musil served the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office in northern Illinois for five years and had previously served four years in the Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan. A devoted mother to three children, her commitment to service and family is remembered through this workout.
The WOD was designed by Jon Jursich, who told WODwell, “I only knew her professionally but I am very close with many of her colleagues.” Jursich incorporated elements that reflect significant aspects of her life and service:
– 42: Deputy Musil’s badge number.
– 35: Age at the time of her passing.
– 29: The date of her end of watch, symbolizing the day she was tragically taken.
– 17: Her birthdate.
– 9: Total years of service in both the Army and the Sheriff’s Office.
– 7: Represents the points on the Dekalb County Sheriff’s office star badge.
– 3: Honors her three children, symbolizing her role as a loving mother.
