7 Rounds of:

  • 500 meter Run

  • 14 Air Squats

  • 14 Lunges (per leg)

  • 14 Sit-Ups

  • 14 Squat Jumps (Finished the 7 rounds in 42:37)


  • Directly into:

  • 25 Burpees

  • 1 mile Run


With a running clock, complete the prescribed work in the order written as fast as possible (“For Time“).

Score is the time on the clock when the 1 mile Run is completed.

This was the perfect workout for today. I did the 500 meter runs on the treadmill but did the mile run outside. The hardest part was going from the squat jumps to the run! Quads!

I really just stayed really steady on the rounds. Burpees felt tougher than I wanted them too and I did walk twice on the run just to get my heart rate down but then tried to run faster than I wanted to once I got going again.

Background: This workout is dedicated to Michigan State Police Canine Rex who was killed on July 25, 2021, after a drunk driver crashed their MSP patrol vehicle.


MSP Canine Rex was transported to Blue Pearl animal hospital for severe spine and leg injuries, to which he later succumbed.


MSP Canine Rex was a member of the Metro South Post and was known for his determination in searching for suspects and articles. He was a tremendous partner to his handler and was an asset to the post.


The workout was designed by Michigan State Police @michstatepolice as a tribute to Rex.
