Chad Wilkinson

For Time: Finished in 1:24:08

Again on 11-11-21 in 60:29 with 45# backpack

1500 in 90:42 - 18" box

11-11-22 - 64:04 with 45# backpack - 20' box standing on 35# plate

  • 1,000 Box Step-Ups (20 in)

  • Wear a Ruck Pack (45/35 lb)

A ruck is a weighted backpack to simulate the gear carried during a hiking expedition.

This was an incredible grind but truly awesome. I used my 45# back pack filled with sand and the 18' inch box at my condo gym. I did sets of 100 and would get a drink and wipe the floor (I started to slip on my sweat! Ew! Lol!!) Honored...

Did this at Untapped. Used a 20" box at first but went down to 18" when Kelly was done using it. Molly's hip was hurting her and so she got to 600. I told her I would finish the rest of her reps for her and then just went ahead and did an extra 500. Calves were FRIED the next day!!

At Cerus with Conner and Casey! Everything felt great except my traps. We'll see how my calves feel tomorrow but I did a little walking after and voodoo floss so hopefully that helps. Just a grind as always... So good! Honored.

Dedicated to Chad Michael Wilkinson of the US Navy who died on October 29, 2018, in Virginia Beach on active duty after 22 years of service. CrossFit Games Director, Dave Castro posted this workout in memory of Chad, who was a friend. Castro said: "A few weeks ago we lost an American hero. A friend of mine and someone I worked with when I was in the Navy. At his funeral his wife mentioned that he did 1000 step ups for time with a 45 pound pack on a 20” box to train for climbing Mt Aconcagua. Tonight I did this workout with @jameshobart @apbozman and @jimi.letchford. We did it as a celebration of his life and to honor his memory. If you are looking for something to do this weekend give this one a go and keep Chad in mind." From the Navy SEAL Foundation website: "SOCS Chad Michael Wilkinson died by suicide. The Foundation provided immediate tragedy assistance funding, travel and lodging for his family members, flowers and memorial legacy items for the command memorial and reception, as well as a family dinner the evening before the command memorial."

The end of my 1500 step ups... Had a little trouble walking!! Haha!!
