This was a great workout! The shoulder to overheads felt heavy today and so that was definitely the hardest part! Everything else felt really really good...

This memorial WOD, honoring Laura Larson Mayes, was created by her husband, coach Harley Mayes of Fit One Foundation. The workout has 4 rounds to represent each of her children. There are 4 movements for each month she spent battling cancer. 40 reps indicate her years of life. 12 reps per movement signify the years that Laura spent caring for children which was her passion.Laura Markaye (Larson) Mayes passed away, after a 4 month battle with Melanoma Cancer, on December 8, 2015, at her parents' home in Riverside, CA. Laura was born July 12, 1975 in Riverside. She graduated from Ramona High School in 1993. Laura married her high school sweetheart, Harley Mayes, on January 9, 1999. Her entire life was spent in the service of others. She was employed by Denney's and Coco's as a waitress for many years. Laura spent the last 12 years as a licensed day care provider, where she was loved by the parents of the children she watched. She was an active supporter of Pachappa Little League and of Ramona High School football and baseball. She is survived by her husband, Harley, and her four children, Damon, Byron, and Lottie Mayes, and Makayla Pierce; parents MarKaye and Eric Larson; and siblings, Rick Larson, Rachelle Duering, and Korinne Stowell.
