*************************************** This Hero WOD was created in honor of James Derek Lovelace by CrossFit Townie (Thomasville, GA, USA). One of the gym's members, Hannah, "grew up with Derek and they were good friends through middle and high school. Derek had the most fun loving, adventurous spirit, was an all around great athlete and an excellent CrossFitter. He had a big heart to serve and protect others. Derek set out to use his gifts in the Navy! At the time of his passing, on May 6 2016, he was doing introductory water training in Coronado to be a SEAL. He would have been an amazing SEAL and will be greatly missed! The workout's total # of reps equal 319 which was Derek's BUDS class number." "Lovelace" was first performed at CrossFit Townie as the workout of the day for May 21, 2016.
