Roxanne and I used this WOD as a warm-up and it was perfect. We also did it for Roxanne's twin sister Renee... <3 The burpees REALLY got the shoulders on fire... *********************************** The workout was created by coach Nancy Capano and submitted by Wayne Lewis (of CrossFit iQ, West Palm Beach, FL). From Wayne: "On the night of October 1, 2017, 58 lives were taken from this world in what was called as one of the worst massacres in American history. It was such a senseless act and loss of life, and we just couldn't understand why or imagine the suffering the people went through. We came up with this workout for ourselves to do as a way of paying remembrance to the victims, and once we were finished, we thought it would be a nice gesture to share it with others who may feel the same way." "When I was thinking about the WOD the c&j represented people picking each other up and getting them over fences/truck beds etc. and the burpees was for ducking for cover and then having to get up and run/hide." The 58 seconds of silence represent the number of victims. 10 rounds for the month, October. 1 clean-and-jerk represents the day. 17 burpees for the year.
